Between fen and mountains

Before the sun gets up

With heat wave health warnings in force until Sunday and hot nights and temperatures up to 36 degrees, I knew that the only time to get out for some exercise was first thing. It was good to walk out of the village at 7.30 am with most people still not up and with only the cock crowing and the odd barking of dogs.  I spent some time doing practical jobs in the morning including a tip run, so easy as you can drive straight into compound and,  with the containers sunk into the ground, tipping things in is very easy. In the afternoon I did research and calculations for the gravel and materials I need to order to resurface the courtyard. Unfortunately, it is difficult to order anything at the moment as the quarries and material depots are mostly shut for August.
