The Carbuncle

The ugly thing attached to the end of our building that I've wanted rid of ever since we moved here, and that, in my commitment to showing the beauty of a place, you won't see in the thumbnail.

It was full of junk, and then Mike started using it to store firewood. Anyway, he's made another carbuncle (but at least not attached to the house) rainproof, moved the firewood, and now getting down to the original junk/treasure, like the yoke he's holding, and the brooms made out of broom that he thinks will be useful if we ever have to beat out a fire.

Meanwhile, spent most of day in hammock/bed, but did get dressed this afternoon to listen to son practice his sermon.

Gratefuls:
- bit of a thunderstorm in the early morning, not enough rain to make a difference, but at least we know rain isn't a figment of our imagination (no more predicted)
- some progress on getting better, less fever, anyway
- listening to a great podcast with the owner of what sounds like a superb bookshop in Pennsylvania, Hearts and Minds Bookstore, who is trying to keep the human face to buying books, even if online... I don't usually listen to podcasts, but seemed a good solution to not even feeling like reading
