Dogwood on fire

Just got back from a near 200 mile round trip, visiting two of the RHS Partner gardens in Norfolk. This shot is from East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens. I took about 100 cuttings of my dogwoods recently, but sadly I don't have any Birch trees to display them against. Can't have it all, can we?

East Ruston is really nice, but they have such silly opening times ... 2-5.30pm??? The price is also a little too expensive as well ... normally £7.50 per adult (although we get in free at certain times of the year with our RHS membership). Still, if you are ever in the area, the gardens are SUPERB!

Earlier in the day, we visited Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden. This garden is really nice too, but it lacks in flower species. At this time of the year, the daffodils have faded, but the primroses, wood anemones, and in particular, the skunk cabbages are doing well. It is very peaceful, and we spent nearly 3 hours there, but I would have liked to have seen more variety of plants and bulbs. If East Ruston can do it, so can Fairhaven.

Lovely day out, but tired now.

Time to catch up on the BBC Iplayer: A-Z of Gardening :-)

Night night!
