The Woodland Garden (Friday 12th August 2022)

Diary blip. These blue slate chippings were originally intended for a corner of the garden but along the way it was decided they should instead go into the round central bed in the middle of the Woodland Garden. I had four bags but when they were emptied into the bed on Wednesday evening I discovered I didn't have enough. Luckily I was able to locate some more in Chippenham on Thursday and found that they were a third cheaper than they had previously been. Work was completed on Friday evening and the area then dowsed with hose water (no hosepipe ban here yet), as the water butt is almost empty now. Virtually no rain has fallen since June.  Shrubs struggle to get enough light here now all the trees I planted around the garden have matured.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
My Morning Jacket - Trouble Sleep Yanga Wake Am (2013)
Jim James' band My Morning Jacket, assisted by Merrill Garbus from Tune-Yards and Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), tackle Fela Kuti's tune from 1972's Fela And The Africa 70 album for Red Hot + Fela, a tribute compilation in support of HIV/Aids awareness. Guy Garvey played this on Radio 6 as I was posting this blip.
The title of the song comes from an old African proverb.
