a lifetime burning

Looking coy

The Sedge Warbler thought that it was safe from the blip paparazzi, preening on a branch in the middle of a willow tree, but I just managed to find a clear shot of it through the leaves. It took me a while of carefully creeping about so as not to disturb the little fellow.  As it is preening there's some really lovely feather detail here if you want to look in large.

As the morning has progressed, the weather has completely changed from yesterday's cloudless sky.  It has actually been raining gently in the last hour, which is an absolute delight.  It is not going to last, and as soon as there's any sort of break in the cloud cover the air heats up quickly, but just that gentle dropping of the rain from heaven is such a mercy (to misquote Portia).
