A Day In The Life

Anticipation

Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting…

I always enjoy watching the hummingbirds approach the feeders. The way they zoom in quickly but then at the last second hold up, to hover inches away. I wonder why they do that? Are they verifying they’re alone? Do they stay in the air long enough to chase any intruders away? Or, are they checking the feeder to see if the old lady replaced the old nectar? Maybe it’s to ensure everything is as it was, that nothing is out of place? • It could be all of the above • They always have the same expression on their faces too. It’s true!! That look of anticipation. Like, they probably start salivating as soon as the feeder comes into view. Oh, nectar! How sweet you are! • Thanks, Carly Simon, for the perfect song today :) • With thoughts of Newexperiments and KatesgardenPDX • Peace & Love
