Family tree

Eda loves this tree but a couple of years ago she was much more gung ho about climbing it. Today she was asking if there were any splinters before giving it ago. Increased knowledge is good I suppose.

We had a lovely couple of hours in the St Ives Estate thus morning. Coppice Pond first with duck food. Jude was much more able to participate than in previous visits and we had to make sure she didn’t throw herself in in her enthusiasm!
A couple of young ducklings and the two younger cygnets, large now but still fluffy, as well as the two adults. The dominant swan was still intent on chasing them off. There was only one of his brood around,  now a fully fledged brown feathered juvenile.

We went to the Ivy Kitchen, Grace and I shared a cake with our coffee, a blond brownie! Interesting and a nice change. The girls had ice cream - a serious business for Jude.
We sat out at the back so the girls could see the horses.

A few spots of rain as we left and one or two next to nothing showers through the afternoon. Still very warm.

Elsewhere Chris was off with Alex in Leicester for his motoring experience. We bought him this for his 40th birthday a year ago this month. He finally got it organised and seems to have really enjoyed it. He chose seven different cars to try. You can see him in some in the extra but don’t ask me what they are!
