19:57. In the garden.

20:32. Now more like dusk with the cloudy sky this evening. I’m still sitting with the patio door open and the clouds are ever so slightly pinkish purple. We have one light on just by the window.
Last night was such excellent fun.
It was a warm evening and as the sun was going down there was the most spectacular sunset which no camera could do justice. (But I’ll put a photo of it in extras anyway. And one which shows the crowd celebrating a six! The batsman scores 6 runs outright if his hit goes over the boundary line).
There was a huge good natured crowd, and a festive atmosphere.
Birmingham Phoenix were playing Trent Rockets. This is not like a Test match which lasts 4 or 5 days.
We’ve been to a lot of those including the famous Lords, owned by Marylebone Cricket Club, or affectionately known as the MCC.
I am gradually catching up with your blips. It happens to all of us doesn’t it!
We had some rain today. Not a lot but enough to make us feel there could be more. A warm muggy kind of day. It was raining when we left the family after being round there this afternoon. They go on holiday on Friday.
Well now it is dark and the time is 20:46.
We had a new hosepipe today (the irony! As I’ve not been using the old one anyway due to it having a few leaks) I’ve been using a watering can. Carrying half a can at a time. This one is more sturdy, not one of those expandable ones like the one we’ve had to discard.
Maybe we’ll get a real downpour during the night! Hope so!
PS You can see which plants have survived the heat. The sedums, the roses and the lavender in the middle border.
