Loch an Eilean At Rothiemurcas

We were up and packed up and left Ross House at 10 on the dot!

The midgies were in full attack mode so did not spend much time outside . It was a case of pile the stuff at the front door then run for the car boot.

We stopped at the Midge Bite at Achnasheen (one of my fav place names) which is a place we’ve been at before. It’s always busy and rightly so. Great coffee and food. We had coffee and pastry sitting outdoors and chatted to out next table neighbours. Their husbands were doing a charity cycle, Beauly to Applecross this leg, and they were following each in a big white campervan. And they were heading to Applecross!!! Eeek, up that road in one of these! I didn’t say anything just good luck, hope you don’t meet the service bus (like we did once in our car).

We had a good journey to Loch an Eilean and parked up. Beautiful day again and perfect for a paddle. The loch was busy but plenty room . One of the prettiest lochs I would say.

We had a good trip down the A9, no nutter drivers thankfully and got home at 6:30.

Another great holiday with the boys- now to plan next years one.
