Book Festival venue

At the College of Art

Waited for the rain to go off, so mid morning went over to Lauriston Place. Started at the bookshop, then explored the setup for the Book Festival. Didn't try to schedule any events. The Art College has impressive sandstone buildings (corridor in first extra) from 1909; a modern theatre in second extra .. there was music playing quietly on an excellent sound system, and an empty room setup for lunch in the third extra.

Main image is Alexander McCall Smith being interviewed, discussing his work in Botswana and how he used that material in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Interview here I didn't stay (the outdoor seats were still damp). The indoor cafe was serving early lunches, and there's covered outdoor seating.

Another walk around by the canal and the railway path later in the afternoon.
