Wound up in Wexford

Committed

That's it.  We're in the throes of being "packed up".  Despite still not having a completion date, we committed to the removal.  In fact, by about 1100, we had heard that our buyers are aiming for exchange and completion on Monday.  Today has been totally overwhelming - partly because the original intention was to commence removal next Monday (our removers reckoned they had no availability for this week).  Then on Monday, they contacted us to tell us that they had "given away" our time next week, and could only fit us in this week - Thursday and Friday.  And then on Tuesday, they told us they were coming today!

Because we are going into rented accommodation and the bulk of our house contents are going into storage for an indeterminate length of time, we have to think about what we need in the next few months and try to ensure that doesn't get packed away into the storage boxes - despite being clearly told not to, they have packed away a couple of drills that W wanted to take with us.

I've found it overwhelming.  They have been incredibly speedy - they arrived at 8.30, and left by about 3pm - the whole house looks like this room - full of boxes.  The bookcases are all empty, the ornaments and pictures are all packed.

Our bed is covered in clothes that I had tentatively said "come with us" but which I need to thin down even further.  On Monday I said "we aren't going to get everything into the car, let's just go ahead and get the top box we had been thinking about.  So today W had to go to Kia Norwich and pick up the roof bars, and then across the road to Halfords to buy a large top box.  I still wonder where we are going to fit all the stuff we *think* is essential for our rental stay.

We've had a bit of rain today - but not much - many around us seem to have had much more.  The heavens are saving it up for tomorrow, when our removal firm will be carrying stuff out to the van!
