Impressionist Exhibition

My one involvement in this year's festival was to visit the impressionist exhibition at the Royal Academy with my friend, John. Now that we are able to take photographs in the Scottish national galleries I decided  that I would choose just one artwork to photograph instead of using my usual scattergun approach. Unusually for me I chose a charcoal etching of Pisarro rather than a painting. It is entitled " Figures at the Banks of the Marne, near Chennevieres"and pictures where the backwaters of the Marne join the Seine. There is a massive whole wall painting of this scene in the first room of the exhibition which is equally stunning.
