Girls in blue

It looked fairly dull this morning but the sun was out and pretty warm when we set off to walk down to Larkhall. Thanks for all your concerns about Jude but she seems fine.

After a visit to the ‘magic shop’, we went to Larkhall deli to sit in their outdoor area and have a coffee. I’d bought Jude a Fireman Sam truck for £2 and she preceded to fill it with stones. For the same price I got Eda a ‘pop up’ mermaid’s castle kit where you could build an underwater mermaid set, so she set to to make that.

Grace thought she’d made a big mistake by forgetting to bring something  gf for Eda but they had French macaroons which she loved, as did the rest of us. I had to go back and get some more.

A good carrot to get them there and back is the ‘ teeny tiny park’ properly known as St Saviours Little Park on the site of what used to be St Baduds Spa as a spring was found here.

Sadly the council have decided it is too old to maintain so it will close at the end of the summer. We love it as it is never busy, no queuing for the swings but I guess that’s part of the reason it is going. There has been a  ‘consultation’ but I’m sure the decision has been made on cost to the council. They are going to make it an eco green space. I’m all in favour of that but Grace will definitely miss it with Jude once Eda is at school.
Any way today they both had a great swing and then lots of fun going down the slide together. Maybe for the last time here.

The sun was very hot for walking back up the hill but a good thing as Jude’s car seat cover that I hung out when we left had nearly dried when we got back.

While Jude napped Eda and I did a shrink art jungle kit that she had been given. She loved doing it but an adult is obviously need for using the oven. Grace was rehearsing for tonight when her am dram group are running through  Act 1 of ‘Mack and Mabel’ which she is doing in October. She wanted to refresh her lines having been away for two weeks. She’s now out at rehearsal.

A good day for all.

Jude is in the ‘Hockney’ dress she wore at Easter, it’s nearly too short for her now!
