Up and out to Bodypump first thing, and this time the watch recording worked. Enjoyed it again, must make this a regular thing. Home and a quick shower then K phoned and V arrived almost at the same time, left them talking to each other whilst I got dressed quickly then V and I set off for a good blether in local cafe. We had coffee and bacon rolls then, because there was still lots to say, we had cake! My goodness what a treat, just sitting in the increasingly sunny window chatting about anything and everything for a couple of hours! We made plans for trips and activities over the next couple of months and laughed a lot…excellent stuff!
From there I went to the Book festival and met up with most of our book group (we missed you Winsford!) as well as Munroist4113, and, in passing, Marchmont. Lovely reception before the Jenni Fagan talk about Hex her latest book about one of the first witches tried in the North Berwick witch trials. Great demo of the witch finder web resources and chatted to lots of people, with food linked to the book and some beautiful grey roses (who knew they were a thing?) which were mentioned in it too. I wonder how many people will meet on Castlehill on 4th December with roses to remember Geillis Duncan as suggested in the book? Quite a few I suspect!
The discussion itself between Jenni and Sally Magnusson was very good. Afterwards we gathered again for drinks and chat for a couple of hours…it’s been a sociable day!
Home and set to on the flight bookings and A helped me with the web searches. Finally booked! Will be in Australia (or en route!) from 25th Sept to 21st Oct! Woo hoo…..any recommendations beyond Melbourne and Sydney?.
