A mid morning walk and some light on what is usually a very dark section of this path

Spotted two Jays, a species not seen since the Spring.

Watched the racing from York on TV, the Ebor handicap was the big event of the day.
Frankie Dettori won a horse called Trawlerman with unusual tactics racing apart from all the other horses for almost half the race then cutting across to join the others in the lead. He appeared to be passed by two horses but then accelerated to win on the line in a photo finish. It is many years since I followed horse racing closely and this was a reminder of days that seem to be in another lifetime.
