Pocket Watch

Keeping an eye on time has been turned into an art form with the most fabulous watches that make a statement about personal wealth and status. This pocket watch belonged to my father-in-law and he relied on it in the days when it was not uncommon to take the train from Glasgow City Centre to Milngavie at lunch time, walk the short distance home, sit down to eat a proper meal prepared by his wife and return to the office for the afternoon. It is hard to imagine this scenario now as such lifestyles are long gone. A sandwich scoffed in front of the computer is more like it. It is lovely to have this beautiful memento of a bygone age.

It had to be an indoor blip today as I'm struggling with one of these nasty flu-type bugs that refuses to go away!
