Appledore-Instow Ferry

The intension today was to go to RHS Rosemoor, but the weather was rather damp with that very fine rain/mizzle on and off through the morning. So decided to do  a quick tidy up in the utility room so the British Gas engineer has a clear space to work in the morning for my annual boiler check. A phone call from a friend in Bideford delayed lunch a bit

So decided after lunch to pop over to Instow as it was coming up for high tide. Timed it perfectly as the Ferry pulled into the harbour on the Instow side of the river Torridge. The ferry has a facinating history, see www.appledoreinstowferry.com   if you are interested. It runs twice a day on the high tide. Colour version in extras.
