Ant Metropolis

The largest wood ant nest I have even seen - a great mountain of pine beedles.The inhabitants were rushing about so industriously that the surface seemed to be moving.Their continual comings and goings had beaten narrow trackway through the vegetation.

The ants' cooperation, husbandry and industry put we humans to shame.
