It rained this morning and this afternoon but the middle of the day brought sun. I took advantage and walked the garden, counted cats (holding on 12), and watched The Amazing Hummingbird Show • They’ve been so active lately racing and zipping through the yard. Sometimes they chase each other, most times they take turns at the wine bar slurping up the house special, but not today. Today they spent most of the time in the trees. I watched them from the ground moving from one bare branch to another. They preened while monitoring the sky in every direction as if a kamikaze hummer strike was inevitable. That’s why it was such a treat to see these two together, if only for a few seconds. The one on the right is a female. Could she be Mom to the one on the left? I have no idea but I like thinking so • We were up early this morning so we made those zucchini muffins that we never got to on Monday. MrsP grated and I did the mixing. We make a good team :) • Grateful for the rain.
