Cleaner

Another sunny, hot day - it's 33°C already, at lunchtime.

This morning, we had our solar panels cleaned professionally, for the first time since they got installed.

I was impressed by the machine, which looked like it came from a car wash, and could be extended enough to reach all the way down to the bottom modules.

The man wielding it - a professional roofer - climbed up there on a ladder that barely reached the gutter, and he worked without any safety measures. I wasn't sure whether to be impressed or appalled by his nonchalance.

But I was definitely impressed by the "Before / After" difference. The layer of sahara dust, pollen and other stuff is really visible on the right-hand side of the modules.

Allegedly, a panel produces up to 30 percent more electricity after a good cleaning. We will see.
