Northwesterly

One of the Western Ferries boats battles its way into the waves driven on a strong northwest wind this afternoon as it leaves McInroy's Point. The spray was enough to spatter the windscreen on the drive along the shore road from Gourock, but in Hunter's Quay, on the other side, the sea was virtually calm.

Interestingly enough, both the small passenger ferries were still running - the waves looked spectacular but weren't really very high, as there was no space for the water to gather any real force.
