Crab apples

The crab apple tree in next door’s garden has fruited well this year. The little apples are really colourful. Sadly these pretty fruit go to waste every year, as you can see in the extra. They are very sour, and it seems the only thing to do with them is make crab apply jelly.
After the excitement of the recent rain we are back to summer again. I did a bit of tidying up outside, but found it too hot. I shall have to water again tonight, but thankfully we don’t have a hosepipe ban.
