Watching cricket on the village green

A lovely summer’s day. And a beautiful setting for cricket and for watching the game from the boundary. Just a shame about the scaffolding and plastic around the old school building which is currently being renovated. Good performance by England to level the series against South Africa after getting stuffed by an innings in the first game. James Anderson: GOAT! Our North American blippers will know the term!

Apart from this tranquil moment it was none stop today. The morning was taken up with getting Doreen to and from the hospital for one of her regular eye checks.

The afternoon, just jobs, cleaning, cooking, making cucumber pickle, freezing lemons, ordering lamps and stuff, replacing under cupboard lights. Phew!

It’s Saturday evening now and the aperitifs are about to be served.

Lovely responses to yesterday’s blip. Thank you.
