Ferns Part 3

Not all Ferns look like the ones I have blipped so far.

This is Hart’s Tongue Fern,  ( Asplenium scolopendrium ). It is found throughout the British Isles although not so common in the north of Scotland.
It will be familiar to most blippers who go out into the countryside.
Like others in the family it reproduces using spores rather than flowers and seeds.

There are places around Arnside where many hundreds can be seen.
