Out of the blue

Deltic D9009 'Alycidon' emerges from a blue haze of its own exhaust fumes, with four other diesels behind it. It's had a nice little weekend break on the Mid-Hants Railway 'Watercress Line' and as I happened to see it here a few days ago on its way down, I thought I'd try and catch it again on its way back home to the East Lancs Railway. It doesn't (for me) have the same fascination as a steam engine but it does take me back to my childhood in the North East. Ah, the romance of a cup of coffee and an egg mayonnaise sandwich at Darlington station buffet to a 14 year old.......
