New ones

Changing heifers today. Two of the five in front are new, and here they are five hours after their arrival finally making friends with some of the others. The start wasn't the best, as they broke the fence twice within a minute or two after coming out of the trailer, and for quite a long time they seemed restless and preferred staying apart from the others, if allowed to do so.

Other than that, mostly a dryer day again. Emptied and refilled the dryer in the morning, but delayed starting it for a few hours to take advantage of warmer afternoon weather (up to +18°C today!). After starting it, I was preparing to unload the little load of barley to the old dryer at the cowshed, when the heifer trailer arrived. Got it done after my coffee break, and then emptied the oats from the main dryer.

At this point I was able to make some calculations of the harvest so far. The yield looks quite good, at least for the winter wheat and the barley. They were on the best fields though, so the oats being less great is no surprise.

EDIT: Must add that it had rained four millimetres at night, so 28 altogether since Saturday night. Quite wet though sunny.
