Late Light

We moved on to this housing estate just as it was being developed.  As part of the design profile for the area was the need to provide green corridors and open space to balance the construction of houses.  I think they did a pretty good job and now 35 years on we have a view from above that offers evidence of its success.

When you look at modern new-build estates, with their smaller gardens, reduction in front garden space and more floors in the houses, you do wonder whether these sites will be able to offer the same feeling of space as they mature.  Of course, only time will tell, but having viewed a few properties on these construction sites recently, the lack of space stands out to us.
