A Walk Around Himley

Our day today was pure pleasure. We had earlier agreed to visit the hall and grounds of Himley, near Dudley. (Main and extra)

The hall and grounds are late 17th century, Grade ll listed, with parkland designed by Lancelot Capability Brown. The building is in the Georgian style and the whole package is a fabulous venue for walking and exploring.

We met and chatted with a charming couple who were both interesting and entertaining company. So much so we exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet again at a local National Trust property in the near future.

Hollie, of course, was in her element. Running, exploring, swimming in the numerous pools and streams. We walked around the extensive boating and fishing lake and just generally had a jolly good day.

I was pleased that Mrs I enjoyed the day. She really needed the escape from the recent stresses of our house move preparations and I know she enjoyed the social interaction.

And the weather was glorious.

Happy Days.
