Foolin’ around on the beach

We thought it rained yesterday….boy were we wrong! It rained VERY HEAVY all morning. All around our grass hut was a lake! It was so noisy inside! And windy. It felt wrong to feel cold …. but I was! At one point mom asked if we could close the windows because it was just blowing right through the house. Only problem was…they were all closed! The wind was literally blowing right through the walls of the house!
When the rain finally eased Audrey, Doug and I went out for a walk along the beach in he warm water and as always to see if we could find food for mom primarily.
On our way we found the huts out over the water so stopped to get our photo in front of them. We found a nice restaurant that we are going to book in for tomorrow. Just need to work out how to get mom back home after it!
We then went to the little market and picked up chicken, juice and dessert.
On the way back I wanted to go for a swim before the next lot of rain settled in. We could see it on the way.
Doug and I headed out for a swim. You could see huge waves crashing on the reef. The water was amazing, especially when I swam underwater. The colors just so beautiful. As the wind picked up more and the rain got heavier we decided to head in.
A hot shower, then lunch. And back to my rocking chair crocheting again.
Audrey as always, couldn’t sit still and ended up sweeping the house twice with only a 15min gap between! Haha! I think bits just fall out of the grass roof particularly with the high winds we have.
Ironically the weather forecast looks the same until we leave!
Just before sunset Audrey couldn’t stand it any longer. It had stopped raining and she wanted to be on the beach for sunset.
We all ended up going and just playing around a little. Then I spotted a shadow moving in the water near the edge. It was another ray! It had a short tail. We walked along side it as it gilded along. :D
Sun set (no amazing colors) dinner was then ready. Chicken, rice, beans and soy sauce. Mmmmm!
The rest of the evening was spent sorting out taxis and rental cars for the next two days.
It’s a pity that the weather is as it is but we came to relax and that’s what we’re doing!
It’s still beautiful and amazing to be here.
I’m now officially in love with rays!!!
