Sgwarnog: In the Field

Darter

Back on my own patch after a weekend away, and back at work properly after a somewhat stop start summer.

Down at the Butterbur patch there were lots of these Common Darter about, basking in the sunshine. There aren’t that many butterflies about now, but Speckled Wood are doing well and I saw Small White, Large White, Comma and Small Copper.

In the evening I went down to Valley Parade where Sheffield Wednesday were in town for an EFL Trophy game. This competition typically has low attendances, but it’s been a while since Wednesday came to Bradford so there was good interest.  A 6000+ gate, with slightly more away fans than home made for a good atmosphere and City were deserved 3-1 winners over their higher ranked opponents.
