Bassenthwaithe Lake

Left Penrith and headed for the lakes to catch up with Steve for his birthday weekend. Weather wasn't too bad but a bit cold and strong winds.
First stop off was at Castlerigg Stone Circle for a few photos before heading off to Bassenthwaithe Lake for a few more photos and a spot o lunch. This is the view up the 4 mile long lake.
From there it was further down into the lakes to get to the cottage Steve had rented for the weekend just outside Bootle.
Got there a bit earlier than the others and managed to get into the unlocked cottage.
Head off to Millon to get some supplies in before going back to wait for the others.
Tea was pizza as to local pub didn't look too impressive.
A few more friends turned up around 10pm and the rest around midnight. All up from London.
Had a great night drinking and catching up to celebrate Steve's 40th birthday.

This will be my entry into the monthly blip challenge for Landscapes.
