Water off a duck’s back.

I drive past the pond a couple of days ago to check the water level and was surprised to see 15 Canada geese. Some sat on the bank and some in the water. Not a duck in sight.
Unfortunately didn’t have my camera.

So today, armed with a camera, went again.
However no geese but the mallards had returned. About 15.
The water level is still dropping and the colour getting more green/ brown.
The ducks didn’t seem to mind as several were splashing about preening themselves.
They certainly got in some very funny positions too.

Thought s collage would be the best way to show their antics.

A warm day with sunshine. Now a lovely evening. Beginning to get that beautiful golden autumn light.
So far this year is just flying. The last day of August and according to the weatherman the last day of the meteorological summer.

We went to Wynsors World of Shoes this afternoon as I needed some new walking shoes.
The shop was quite busy as the new school year starts next week, and that means new shoes for the children.
I managed to get some Karrimor weathertite just what I wanted.
Must say the staff are so friendly and helpful, and they usually have a wide selection and most sizes. Will definitely go back later as I also need new walking boots for winter.
Everything wearing out. Must be all the walking we are doing!
