A Royal Visit

In the first time since 2020, Frogmore House within the Windsor Royal Estate was open for just 3 days for charity. Today was the last day, in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind, so I took the opportunity to visit. My first visit to the house and gardens was in Aug 2005 when it was still possible to go inside the opulently decorated Victoria and Albert Mausoleum. A leak in the roof causing structural and cosmetic damage meant this was closed for my next visit in Aug 2014, and it was still closed today, though apparently repairs have now been made, so maybe next time!  Apart from that nothing much has changed .other than the clear improvement in image quality from upgraded cameras over the years (and perhaps my photography?)

Frogmore House was last lived in permanently by Queen Victoria's mother, the Duchess of Kent, until her death in 1861. Queen Mary lived there intermittently and furnished the house with family momentos, many of which are still on show as she placed them. It is now used by the royal family to host private and official functions.
