Yet another flower!

No sunshine today - a dull start to a gloomy day. To the library this morning, as if I needed more books to read!

The other day we spotted some blueberry plants for sale in Lidl, so I popped in to see if they were still there as Mrs M likes the idea of picking her own blueberries from the garden. They were, but were looking a bit scrappy as they hadn't been watered lately; I got my own back by leaving a dry composty mess at the self checkout as they had to be turned on their sides to scan the barcode! They weren't expensive and will recover with a bit of TLC.

Another plant Blip today as it's not a great photography day - this is Lilium sargentiae, a native of Szechwan in western China. Supposed to come from an area with hot summers and cold winters, but it's always done well here and produces loads of bulbils in the leaf axils which can be used for propagation. One website says - "Grows amongst rank grasses and scrub on granite, slate and mud shales"; sounds a bit like my garden! Like many lilies it has a beautiful perfume.

Did a bit of weeding on the bank above the house, as whatever grain in the fat balls germinates all over the place! It began to rain lightly after a while, so I came in to do some 'office work'.
