The Phoenix Rises

By sheilaM

Evening river

After a day's work when I couldn't wait to get out into the sunshine, I escaped out on my bike to blow the cobwebs away.

The loch was where my bike took me.
Sailing up the old railway to the new path.
Along the river, past the ancient oak.
On and on the path led me, until the path ended.

The harsh surface of the road was rutted
Gusting wind tugged me back
A hard slog along the south side
To arrive home in time for venison sausages for tea.

Ally is a darling.

I almost forgot about the day from hell,........almost.
