It’s been lovely this week to have slow starts to each day, and had another this morning. Chatted to Kt about dogs (she’d like another!) then T and I went down to P’s house to empty his dining room…lugging so many books and pieces of furniture upstairs to make space for the hospital bed that will be delivered Monday. We had sandwiches in the back garden and a good chat then we popped into the allotment and picked some sweetcorn which was delicious! Then I went and collected P’s iPad and got a screen protector to stop it getting smashed again, and a new charging station for T’s watch and phone then went to visit P. He was chirpy…he’s finally got his hearing aids sorted and back in and we could actually talk rather than having to use the whiteboard. His chest infection seems to be under control and he was delighted to see the photos of his garden and to have an apple from his own tree. He was on such good form I managed to get him to weed out loads of things from his ToDo list….and he was very relieved to have far fewer things to be concerned about doing.
In the evening we made some chilli and wedges and Kt made a courgette loaf cake to go in the village show tomorrow. I remember entering shows like this as a child and used to love making the miniature gardens, floating flowers and rock cakes etc.
