Mullaghmore

Over in the Burren in county Clare for the weekend. The Burren is the most amazing limestone landscape, carboniferous limestone laid down 325 million years ago, and is famous for its flowers. Went for a walk around the Loch Avalla Farm loop, a lovely trail that takes you through hazel scrub and lush vegetation, past a holy well and over limestone pavements, with a fine view of Mullaghmore. The flowers are past their best at this time of year, but there were harebells  and a whole field of devil's-bit scabious. Something had been eating hazelnuts and leaving the husks lying around. Today's blip is Mullaghmore from the Loch Avalla Loop.
