Thought Provoking

Today me and Mrs MD visited the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.  We started by visiting the Armed Forces Memorial from which we had a wonderful panoramic view of the site.  That's when we realised that we had no chance of seeing much by just wandering around -  150 Acres and almost 400 memorials.  We decided to enjoy a tour around on a Golf Buggy, piloted by a really nice and knowledgable guide called Ken.
My extras show 'Free Spirit' - A memorial to acknowledge the horse’s unfaltering service to mankind especially in times of conflict.  "Every Which Way' - dedicated to the children evacuated from their homes in the Second World War.  And when we returned to the Visitor Centre we found this Scottish Piper and drums playing in the courtyard.
A most enjoyable and poignant day out.
