Solace Day 4 - Festival

We hadn't realised that this weekend the Inland Waterways Association were holding their Festival of Water. We had planned to moor here at Shobnal to shop in Burton-on-Trent. Not only was there no space to moor, pitches were costing £40 for the weekend.

The boats sported bunting and Shobnal Fields had various stalls Boats were moored two abreast and Kat had to steer slowly and carefully past them. ( By the way, what you may not know is that in a narrowboat, the slower you go, the harder it is to maintain a course.) She did perfectly. The main trouble was that by the time we had got passed them all we had to turn around at the next winding hole and head back.

Kat shopped at Branston instead. Another night of mooring at the Water Park. Very Nice.
