Back

Although dry, the clouds lowered over Torshávn when I left for the airport this morning (see extra) so it wasn't so hard to leave. Since "Vágar Faroe International" has only got two gates and had no security queue, I probably could have taken the bus that arrived 40 minutes before take-off, but I didn't risk it and had a four hour wait in the terminal. Sadly I couldn't get any Faroes' whisky from the duty free. I was told that it sells out everywhere in about 24 hours when it's released!

The flight was pleasant, as there was little cloud over Scotland, so I could play the game of recognising the mountains and lochs below (see extra). Naturally it took longer to get to Penicuik by bus than I spent in the air.

When I got home we went out for a meal in the garden of our local pub, going back to fetch Django to socialise with the three border collies that were there.

I then walked him, and managed to get to St Mungo's in time to get an open view and foreground to accompany the fine sunset.

I'm shattered, but have had a fantastic week. Thanks for all the kind comments and acknowledgements. Happy to share advice if I've inspired anyone to visit the Faroe Islands!
