Being brave...

After yesterdays sudden down pour of rain and drop of temperature it seemed like the sunny Autumn days were over, but then today we woke to sunny skies again!
So, still being school holidays, and having my niece with us, we had another busy day out and about. First to the pools (indoors), and then Ella suggested we go up the Gondola......
Now, those of you are who are local will know about the Christchurch Gondola and where it is, and about the EQ's etc.
For you others.... It is on the Port Hills,in the valley where we live actually , and was a very popular tourist and locals attraction , until the big EQ, when it suffered from rock fall damage>it has been closed for 2 1/2 years for repairs and has only recently re-opened.
I actually never thought I would be tempted to go on it again after the EQs, another thing in a long list of 'never again's'....I have fears of things that pre EQ I would never have even thought about. But , the girls wanted to , and so off we went.
It was not so much the Gondola ride I was worried about, just being up in the hills again, and the thought of 'what if we get stuck up here', .....but it was such a brilliant day, it was so nice to be up there in the fresh air, and the view is so great, looking over our valley and city from one side, and then down to Lyttleton and the Harbour on the other.
I haven't managed to get a great photo , but this is the girls in the Gondola 'car' on our way down, with our valley in the back ground.
