What did I see today...?

By DaveR

Triacastela - Sarria

And the rain continued...

Though not nearly as bad as the day before - today was mostly light rain and we were walking through a lot of woodland as pictured. After the rain there was mist (the kind that acted like rain, of course) and then after our lunch stop there was... sun - our first sunny afternoon of the trip (until it rained again, but only briefly!)

Sarria was our stopping point for the day and is the closest you can get to Santiago (just over 100km away) and still receive a compostela at the end of your journey, stating you have walked on the Camino. As such there were a few fresh faced pilgrims around, but also a lot of familiar ones - we ended up eating in an Italian recommended to us by two fellow pilgrims who joined us - it was a splendid meal and a great way to finish the day.

Fourth Entry - Water Fountain - Quite possibly the most ornate water fountain I've ever seen (not that it was needed in the morning!)
