Cropped Conference Hotel

I couldn't get the full size in because of the trees.  It's the Welcome Residenz in Bamberg.  The building is incredibly pretty, inside it's all pretty gloriously 1980 something.  It doesn't look like it has had an upgrade for quite sometime.

I think the third extra might make you chuckle "Oh look, it's got air and heat controls and OH - look at that...".

So it does look a little scuffed and scruffy in places.

Getting to and from the conference was made easier by our company's policy of looking to hire cars instead of sending everyone first class on a third class rail system.  This saves time and of course, money.  A colleague had rented a normal sized car that could easily accommodate three adults and luggage.  The rental company didn't have one available, and gave him another.  When I saw it I said "Look at our lovely Hired Tank (Mietpanzer)".  A BMW X3 - it was HUGE, enormous and full of every gadget known to man.  Including a radio that kept playing songs that I hadn't heard for years.  Rikki Don't Lose That Number, I Am Your Lady & You Are My Man, All Out Of Love among many others.

So there you are.  Bamberg - probaby better to visit in the spring or autumn.
