Wittersham Road Signalbox

We took our friends to Tenterden today. I wonder why? A short walk around the town followed by a trip on the KESR to Bodiam and back.

Today’s blip is from the train as it passes Wittersham box with the signalman watching the train and waving to passengers with the guard looking on.

Swiftsure was in duty again, burning for the first time Heritage Wildfire “coal” which is made from anthracite and coal dust bonded with a resin. It’s still coal, with 20% less carbon dioxide than standard coal. Apparently, it is cheaper than the last load of Columbian coal. First impressions were positive; “like rocket fuel” What the long term implications will become apparent over time
