A Violet Carpenter Bee

This bee like creature looks like it’s jet black but the wings are a distinctive gorgeous petrol blue iridescent shade when it stays still enough!

I think it’s on a sage type plant maybe. Apparently the bee like creatures don’t cause any big problems and leave you alone if you are gardening near to them.

There has been some rain that was not forecast - very welcome!
