Pied flycatcher

Easterly winds have brought a fall of migrants on Orkney, especially of pied flycatchers and common redstarts. I cycled out to Deerness and got 3 redstart and at least 3 pied flycatchers at the plantation at Denwick. Also there- chiffchaff, blackcap. Nearby was a flock of at least 300 golden plover. There were 12 red admiral butterflies on a bush when I stopped at St Andrews playing field. The extras are of a redstart and some of the butterflies.
