Wedding Day

The day started slowly with relaxing breakfast of chocolate Croissants and coffee at the Black Knight before we made ready for our trip to Villa Catalina for the wedding of my niece Ruth to her fiancé Kieran.  The wedding has been immaculately planned and executed with the reception on Thursday and transport arranged to pick us up from the Camping in time for the wedding.
On arrival at the villa, we were plied with champagne before the main event.  Shirt and jacket were a tad sweaty in the heat but it was a great ceremony with a lot of personal touches as were the speeches during dinner with poems and humourous methods of delivering the traditional speeches.  This all took place during a huge feast of a meal with verious small plates folllowed by main items swordfish, picanha, Spanish spicy sausage and Iberian pork shoulder.  Its a wonder anyone was able to find the energy to dance once the excellent live band started to play, but they did - then things did get a bit hot out on the dance floor.
By the time 11 pm came round (the wedding was at 4 pm) we were beginning to flag and L was keen not to wait, not surprisingly for the transport back which was booked to leave at 2 am!!  So we ordered a taxi and came back to the Camping to get. hopefully, a good nights sleep.  Tomorrow we are back to the Villa Catalina for what they have billed as 'Recovery' - I am not sure how many people will make it, but should be interesting if they are staying up into the early hours of the morning.  Mono extra of the couple - great wedding, very enjoyable and I am now needing an upgrade in clothes sizes!
