Scruffy pheasant

This very scruffy and insignificant looking pheasant is regularly in the garden. He seems happy enough strutting about as they do but his colours are so dull and his feathers always really ruffled. We have several pheasants in the garden every day. They are mostly the reason we have our bird feeding station in a dog crate suspended from an old swing frame! They would hang from the feeders, obviously not built for that size bird, break them and frighten off the little birds. The pheasants now clear up all the dropped seeds from the feeders and I sprinkle the ground with seeds when I fill up. This scruffy one may grow into a fine specimen like its mates who are all splendid with their bright shiny feathers, but he's been like this a while now. Time will tell as it doesn't look like he's going far.
