Tour of Britain

We were lucky to be on the route of the cyclists and lucky that the weather was so much better than forecast, even some proper sunshine throughout the day. I'm sure the cyclists were happy that it wasn't too hot as so much of their journey today was up very steep hills. It was amazing to watch them take this tight turn at the top of the hill into yet another climb. A few of the support vehicles had to do a double take! There was much cheering and clapping led by the two local girls in the extra photo. Every bike that stopped at the bend as they took over from each other was more than happy to stop and chat to the girls and have their photos taken. Les and Phil, neighbours, invited us and all the other Copthill neighbours, to a BBQ which we had started before the arrival of the cyclists. The girls live in local villages and are old friends and horse riding pals of Les and Phil so were staying over. The BBQ went on for the rest of the day and evening and a good time was had by all!
Saturday is village hall coffee morning and I'm running the shop and Les and Phil are on tea/coffee making duties so another fun and busy morning tomorrow!
