Busy

Bit of a contrast to yesterday. It was such a lovely day that we decided to go to the beach, first time this summer. Yes, it was busy but the Plage des Chalets at Gruissan is so vast there's plenty of room for everyone. There were literally hundreds of people in the water. It's very shallow for a long way out and the water was soupily warm.

We had a light lunch at the Paparazzo, one of the beach bars that's constructed for the season and taken down for the winter. It was busy -- you had to leave your phone number and then hang out at the bar till the table allocator called you. We ended up on the very quiet upstairs terrace rather than the buzzing ground floor -- this is the view. The waitress told us they can do 1,800 covers for lunch in high season ... mind-boggling. When we left the beach at 5, they were still quite busy.

We got stuck in a traffic jam on the autoroute (also busy) so it took us well over an hour to get home. And then we had a Zoom with lapsed blipper Bundle to plan an upcoming adventure.
